Sara Olsen
Founder & CEO

Sara founded SVT Group in 2001 after cofounding the Global Social Venture Competition and working in a social enterprise founded by Shorebank in Chicago. She has worked with nearly 100 unique clients internationally, has taught 5,446 individuals about impact management in person and has exposed over 30,000 to the concepts via writings and remote trainings since starting SVT. Bloomberg Businessweek has recognized Sara twice as one of America’s Most Promising Social Entrepreneurs for her work defining the impact management discipline. She is a founding board member of Social Value United States, co-chair of the methodology subcommittee of Social Value International, an adjunct faculty member at Middlebury Institute of International Studies and Hult International Business School, and the author of many publications on impact management. Sara earned her MBA from UC Berkeley and MSW from the University of Chicago, and views her most formative education to have come from living and teaching in the Mississippi Delta after college. She lives with her daughter and partner in Silicon Valley.


Aislinn Betancourt
COO & Consultant

Aislinn is a key figure in SVT’s client services and drives our operations management and marketing efforts. Throughout her career, Aislinn has served as a consultant on dozens of organizational development, strategic planning, and program evaluation projects for both domestic and international clients, providing critical support through research, analysis, and project management. Prior to joining SVT, she was Social Impact Manager for an agricultural and community development NGO in rural Chile, where she spearheaded the organization's impact measurement and management strategy. A veteran direct-service practitioner of over 10 years, she has also worked closely with indigenous communities, at-risk youth, and refugees toward greater economic opportunity, self-actualization and citizenship. Aislinn is a Fulbright Malaysia alum and completed her Masters of Social Work at Boston College, where she concentrated in social innovation, nonprofit leadership, and global practice. She is fluent in Spanish and splits her time between Orlando, FL and Bogota, Colombia.

Intern

SVT Group is looking for a bright, passionate, and curious intern to join our team for a 4-6 month internship starting no later than 1/8/2018. 

We have a number of projects in mind that range from research to social media content development and are happy to work with our intern to determine a Scope of Work that is both mutually rewarding and exciting. The following are a few examples of potential intern projects:

  • Calculate the ideal amount of time we should be spending in each area of our business (operations, business development, marketing, project work, etc.) in order to reach our revenue goals for next year.
  • Contribute to the development of an updated "Pulse of Impact Management" report by: (1) developing a list of prospective fiscal sponsors, (2) supporting outreach to those sponsors, (3) maintaining an online fundraising platform, (4) developing a list of potential interviewees, and (5) supporting outreach to those potential interviewees.
  • Develop social media content for our website, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
  • Develop a database of client prospects.
  • Perform research into the demand for support related to social (including but not limited to environmental) impact measurement, management and reporting/communications, specifically although not necessarily exclusively among the following industries: Real estate development/construction; public health; philanthropy and/or impact investing; established, privately held businesses. 
  • Assist, as needed, with client projects.
